1. DTC Dynamic Test Centre - Privacy Notice

Thank you for visiting the websites belonging to DTC and/or its subsidiaries and for your interest in DTC’s products and services. Protecting your personal data is very important to us, to ensure you can use our websites without thinking twice about doing so. We have therefore drawn up the following Privacy Notice.

The Internet is not a secure environment, generally speaking. As you will be aware, the Internet is an open network that anyone can access. The DTC handles personal data in accordance with the applicable data protection legislation.

1.1    Purpose and scope of this Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes which personal data are collected when using these websites; how the data are collected; and how and for which purposes DTC uses these data, shares the data with others, or passes the data on to third parties. The term “personal data” in this Privacy Notice refers to data that can be used to identify you, for example your name, e-mail address, postal address or telephone number.

By using the DTC sites you are agreeing to the collection, utilisation and transmission of your personal data as described in this Privacy Notice. If you do not agree with this Privacy Notice, do not continue to use any DTC sites.

1.2    Which personal data are collected?

We collect personal data that you communicate to us, e.g. through an e-mail or a registration form. In addition, we collect data on the basis of which we can construct and improve upon our service offering to you; collecting the data also allows us to contact you, carry out research or draw up internal reports.
Your personal data are collected when you register on our website (e.g. via a registration form for a newsletter); when you participate in voluntary customer surveys or competitions; when you send us comments and feedback; or when you apply for a job.

If you hold back the personal information requested you may not be able to use certain parts, offers or features of our websites and it is possible that your enquiry may not be answered.

In addition, when you visit our websites cookies will be stored and information captured on how our websites are being used. You will find detailed advice in the “Cookies” section and the “Web analysis services/Opt-out feature” within this Privacy Notice.

When you use our websites, certain technical and other information will automatically be transmitted from your computer and recorded, such as, for example, the network address, the browser that you use and the page you last visited. This happens for technical operational and security reasons and helps us to categorise the usage of our websites.

1.3    How do we use your personal data?

Your personal data is used for the purpose stated in this Privacy Policy at the time of the collection, according to the relevant circumstances and in accordance with the legal requirements. The data serve to provide, promote and obtain feedback on the quality of our services, as well as to prevent violations of the security and legal requirements or of our terms of contract.

Furthermore, we may use your personal information to provide you with information about our products or services upon request. Your data may also be used to offer you – by e-mail too – products and services that could be of interest to you, or to send you information. If you would prefer to receive no further information in future please let us know by e-mailing us at info[at]dtc-ag.ch.

1.4    Data exchange | Data transmission to other countries

Your personal data may be passed on to third parties where this is required due to the applicable legislation, a legal dispute, a legal, regulatory or other juridical stipulation, and in the course of law enforcement; or where transmission of your data is necessary for assisting in a criminal or judicial inquiry or investigation in this country or in other countries, or where the interests of the DTC company prevail. We shall not loan or sell your personal data to third parties.

Your personal data may also be transmitted to third parties (including to those in other countries) who represent us or who work on our behalf, and may be further processed there in accordance with the original purpose for which the data was gathered.

Your personal data may legitimately be processed by third parties for the purposes of providing the services (e.g. evaluating site usage, marketing, data administration or technical support). The use and processing of your personal data by third parties is only permitted to take place on the same basis as the use and processing by DTC.

1.5    Links to other websites

This Privacy Notice only applies to DTC sites and not to third parties’ websites. Our websites may contain links to other websites that might be of interest to you. Due to the nature of the Internet we cannot, however, guarantee the protection of your personal data on these websites and we take no responsibility in any way for the content on other websites.

This Privacy Notice does not apply to linked websites that do not originate from DTC. Always use caution when opening a link to another website, and read through the Privacy Notice on the site in question.

1.6    Cookies

When you visit our sites, data in the form of “cookies” may be stored on your computer. A “cookie” is a small text file that stores a website in your browser’s cookie file, so that the site can recognise your computer when you next visit.

When visiting our sites, your IP address, the Internet browser you use and the website that you last visited are automatically saved. Information on which sites you visit when and how long you spend on them is also saved. On the basis of this information we can both improve the content of our sites and also create anonymised statistics on the use of our websites, for internal and market research purposes.

Using cookies does not reveal your e-mail address to us, however; neither are personal details transmitted to us. Cookies cannot execute programs nor transfer viruses to your computer. Our website only uses cookies in accordance with the applicable laws.

Please specify in your computer settings whether you want to accept cookies or deactivate them. It is possible to configure your Internet browser in such a way so that you are notified before you accept a cookie; or you can categorically prevent cookies from being stored. The exact instructions as to how to do this are specified in your browser’s handbook. Deactivating cookies or tracking tools may, however, mean that you cannot use all the features on our sites; or that parts of our sites no longer function correctly.

You can find more information on cookies by going to www.allaboutcookies.org or www.aboutcookies.org.

1.7    Social media plug-ins

Social bookmarks (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or LinkedIn) make it possible to show visitors to certain social media platforms links to individual DTC sites on their corresponding social media profiles, so they can save them as bookmarks or share them with their social media contacts.

DTC sites may contain social bookmarks. You can recognise these by the corresponding Share buttons. When you open one of our sites social bookmarks may store cookies on your computer. If you are also a user of a social media platform, the operator of that platform can keep track of which sites you visit, unless you have disabled the acceptance and storage of cookies in your browser settings.

When you use “Share” buttons on our sites you are directed to the AddThis and ShareThis pages. We have no control over the cookies that AddThis and ShareThis use when you use their services. You can, however, reject the storage of these cookies by going to addthis.com cookies and sharethis.com cookies.

When you use social bookmarks, identifiable information is sent to the relevant social media platform. All comments or activities from people who use these social bookmarks are neither controlled nor supported by us and DTC cannot be held responsible or liable for these.

People who share content via social bookmarks are not authorised to speak for, or on behalf of, DTC. Their views and opinions must be seen as entirely their own and not as belonging to DTC in any way.

1.8    Web analysis services | “Opt-out” feature

We use the Google Analytics® web analysis service to collect non-personalised data and statistical information. On the basis of this information we can improve the content of our sites and create anonymised statistics about how they are used, for internal and market research purposes.
If you do not want your visits to our sites to be tracked by Google Analytics® you can reject this by going to the following link: Browser add-on for deactivating Google Analytics

1.9    Security measures to protect your personal data

We employ suitable security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, or unauthorised changes; from accidental or deliberate manipulation; as well as from loss and destruction.

1.10    Changes to our Privacy Notice

DTC may, at any time, for any reason and in any way, without prior notice and at the company’s discretion, modify or add to this Privacy Notice and the information and materials displayed on the websites; additionally and on the same basis it may delete parts thereof or otherwise update them. Each update will be displayed on this website. The most recent update to this Privacy Notice is specified in the last line.
